A longtime Auburn family favorite, the Gold Country Fair kicks off Thursday and continues to Sunday, Sept. 11. The fair offers four days of fun for revelers of all ages, and features quite a few musical acts. Take a look at this year’s headliners. Thursday, Sept. 8 Jackie Greene, singer and songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player, acoustic solo artist and electrifying band leader is returning to the Gold Country Main Stage on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Greene played to a standing room only crowd when he performed at the fair in 2010. Friday, Sept. 9 Ricky Nelson Remembered (on the Gold Country Main Stage at 9 p.m.) celebrates the life of America’s original teen idol. You’ll be treated to a unique entertainment event featuring the live music of Ricky Nelson’s hit songs performed by Ricky’s twin sons Matthew and Gunnar Nelson. Saturday, Sept. 10 Tainted Love, an ’80s cover band, plays all the pop and rock music from Bon Jovi, Madonna, Billy Idol and more.?? Tainted Love takes the Gold Country Main Stage at 9 p.m. and again at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 Nathan Owens is bringing the Motown After Dark show to the Gold Country Fair’s Main Stage at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Motown After Dark features tributes to Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin and more. Owens is backed by a dynamic seven-piece band, two backup singers and a horn section performing the biggest hits from the Motown era.
