Rich, powerful write our laws

I’m asking all voters out there to do some in-depth research on an organization called the American Legislative Exchange Council. It’s made up of about 2,000 state legislators and many executives from the most powerful and wealthy corporations in the country. They sit side-by-side and collaborate to draft “model” bills, then they work in concert to get them passed in statehouses across the country. They spend tens of millions of dollars a year to influence legislation and elections, and furthering corporate interests (not the “average Joe”) is always their focus. All but one of 104 legislators in leadership positions in the group are Republicans. Anyone who calls this democracy, where the rich and powerful write our laws and police themselves, is probably a tea party member. Just go do the research. This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.
