Robbers Fire suspect back in court
The man suspected of starting the 2,650-acre Robbers Fire with fireworks near Foresthill is slated to be in court Monday for an early status conference.
Bryon Craig Mason, 28, of Sacramento is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. appearance in the North Auburn Placer County Jail courtroom.
Mason, arrested July 24, faces a list of arson charges in connection with the Robbers Fire, which burned from July 11 through July 22 and cost more than $13 million to extinguish.
Among the charges is a felony count of arson causing great bodily injury, related to injuries sustained by firefighters
A single residence and four outbuildings were consumed by the flames that ran from Colfax through Foresthill, while 170 residences were threatened.
Mason has been held at the Placer County Jail in lieu of posting $500,000 bail.
