Auburn Rotary Club members used shovels, paint brushes and hammers to improve one local park Saturday as part of Rotary at Work Day. Members from the club gathered at 8 a.m. to start work on planting a section of Auburn Recreation Park?s walking path, painting the pool house, building a new gazebo, spreading new bark over the grounds and painting two portable buildings. Kahl Muscott, district administrator for ARD, praised the value of the volunteer work. ?We couldn?t be happier about the results of the projects completed by the Auburn Rotarians,? Muscott said. ?ARD and the community benefitted from over 100 hours of volunteer time and $2,000 of funding to make these improvements. The volunteer time put into these projects will allow ARD staff more time to complete the myriad other tasks on our daily, weekly and monthly project lists.? ~ Staff report
