Runner’s feet tradition missed

As the Endurance Capital of the World, Auburn enjoys hosting several international endurance events. Events like the Western States Endurance Run bring folks from around the world to our great town. For years the traditional runner’s feet have been painted on the street from Robie Point to the track at Placer High School. These feet mark the last 1.5 miles of the course. After the race is over, the foot prints have remained as a testament to the runners and their determination to finish one of the most difficult 100-mile races. Well, that was until this year when the race director had to pressure wash the painted feet from the street due to the complaints of a few people. I believe the feet should have remained to serve as inspiration for all of the local runners. Jaeson White, Auburn
