Santa brings gifts, cheer to seniors

-A +A
Santa made the rounds to Auburn seniors over the holiday season. Thanks to donations from Auburn area residents, Home Instead Senior Care was able to give 350 gifts to Seniors First, who then distributed the goods to seniors it serves through its Meals on Wheels, Door-to-Door Rides and Friendly Visitors programs. Auburn resident Dave Blau donned the Santa Claus suit for the occasion and volunteered his time to bring a little Christmas cheer to Auburn’s homebound population. Although Blau admitted that the act brought him joy as well. “There is something that comes over me when I put on the red suit, a transformation if you will,” Blau said. “I am just a whole different guy and I love it! The saddest day of the year for me is Christmas Day, as I have to wait about another 11 months before the magic comes back…but it always comes back stronger and better!” ~ Staff report
