Santa Paws is coming to town

Did you ever want to get your picture taken with Santa, or have your kids or pets’ pictures taken with Santa? Now you can, and also benefit an Auburn animal rescue group. The Auburn Area Animal Rescue Foundation is holding its annual Santa Paws fundraising event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Auburn Autohaus on Grass Valley Highway. Those who attend can purchase homemade goodies at a bake sale, participate in a raffle and peruse vendor booths. Proceeds will go toward AAARF. Cassie Reeves, co-founder of AAARF, said the foundation would also have kittens and puppies up for adoption at the event. Ford Family Photography is scheduled to take photographs of adults, children and pets with Santa Claus. The sitting costs $12 and includes a 5 x 7 photograph. Attendees can also order additional prints at the event. The foundation will also be selling its T-shirts. Anyone who wants to become an AAARF volunteer can sign up at the event. Reeves said she enjoys the family atmosphere of the event. “It’s just always a lot of fun,” Reeves said. “The bake sale is kind of new. It’s a big bake sale, so that’s a lot of fun. Thanks to the Internet we have really spread the word this year, so I anticipate we are going to have a lot of people.” ~Bridget Jones ------------------------------------------------------ AAARF Santa Paws event What: a fundraiser for the Auburn Area Animal Rescue Foundation When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday Where: Auburn Autohaus, 2855 Grass Valley Hwy.
