Seen & Heard: Killebrew attends training

-A +A
PlacerArts Program Specialist Karen Killebrew recently attended the Sierra Leadership Institute, held at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. Offered for the 10th year in 2008 by the Sierra Business Council, the Sierra Leadership Institute combines training in specific leadership skills with discussions of the social, natural and financial challenges facing the Sierra Nevada. More than 200 Sierra Leadership Institute alumni currently work throughout the Sierra Nevada to help sustain the quality of life in one of the best regions in America to grow a business, seek adventure, engage in community and raise a family. “I’m looking forward to applying the skills I learned to enhancing PlacerArts’ leadership role in making the Sierra Nevada a premier arts and culture destination,” says Killebrew. “By working collaboratively with local, county and regional governments and organizations, we build support for innovative projects in our own communities as well as the entire Sierra Nevada region.” PlacerArts is the Arts Council of Placer County, a non-profit, public benefit agency celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2008, and the designated state-local partner of the California Arts Council for the County of Placer.
