Senior won’t opt out of Measure L

The best school measure to make the ballot in many moons is Measure L. It guarantees that every dollar stays in Auburn, that no funds can be used for administrators’ salaries, that senior citizens can be exempt from the fee should they choose. As a senior with three great-grandchildren currently in Auburn elementary schools and a fourth to enter in three years, I choose not to opt out and urge Auburn voters to enthusiastically support Measure L on Nov. 2. One Bob Snyder, a candidate for the Auburn City Council, has declared his opposition to the measure, tying it to the mainly vacant and yet to be sold former Alta Vista School site. The two issues are unrelated “apples and oranges” and should be treated as such by voters. CARL LADECK, Auburn
