California seniors need to know that Assemblywoman Beth Gaines voted “no” on AB 138, “The Elder Economic Planning Act of 2011.” The bill did pass, allowing the California Department of Aging (CDA) to use updated information to decide how to allocate its services. Thus the agency will operate more efficiently, serving the senior community better, rather than wasting money where it is not needed. A “no” vote could have crippled the CDA. Gaines’ 2012 opponent, Reginald (Regy) Bronner, of Lincoln, will vote “yes” when it comes to seniors’ interests. William D. Bandes, Roseville
