Sheer indulgence — all for a good cause — at Taste of Chocolate

-A +A

Old Town Auburn was full of chocolate lovers Sunday afternoon for the seventh annual Taste of Chocolate.

Attendees made their way to more than 20 participating merchants and vendors, trying an array of decadent treats, from truffles and cupcakes to brownies and meringue cookies.

The event is co-sponsored by the Old Town Business Association and American Association of University Women. Proceeds benefited AAUW educational programs and the Old Town Medical Museum.

In addition to free hugs and bubbles, the Sugar Plump Fairies handed out antacids for people who ate a little too much chocolate.

Sugar Plump Fairy Colleen Conley spent her Sunday afternoon serving up alfajores, or chocolate-dipped sugar cookies with caramel filling. Conley is also a member of the AAUW.

“It’s wonderful to have a nice day and see all the people turning out to discover the shops and enjoy Taste of Chocolate,” Conley said.
