A call about a man jumping out in front of vehicle led to an attempted murder charge Thursday. Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies took 19-year-old David Paul Bledsoe into custody early morning Thursday and later that day tied him to a suspected stabbing, according to Undersheriff Rich Kimball. At about 1 a.m., deputies responded to a call that a suspicious male had jumped in front of vehicle in the Maidu Ridge Road area in North San Juan. After talking to the reporting party, authorities found Bledsoe walking along the Tyler Foote Road area near Sages Road and determined he was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was taking into custody and while he was being booked, a dispatcher reported that a call came in about a stabbing victim, with the same last name as Bledsoe, in the emergency room of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, officials said. The victim reportedly had multiple stab wounds and lacerations, some of which appeared life threatening. The victim was in surgery and listed in serious condition Thursday, Kimball said. Investigators are examining the scene where the victim lives in North San Juan. Bledsoe has been charged with attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing. - Staff report
