Shots reportedly fired in front of Foresthill fire station

Two people were arrested after they reportedly fired shots in Foresthill Tuesday. Officer David Martinez, spokesman for the California Highway Patrol office, confirmed Wednesday that there was a shooting in the foothill town. “No one was hit, the CHP is investigating and two people are in custody,” Martinez said. The names of those arrested were not available Wednesday. According to an electronic newsletter, The Foothill Inquirer, a man apparently involved in the incident slowed down in front of the Cal Fire station located off Foresthill Road, yelled and fired a handgun into the air. The incident occurred between 2 and 4 p.m., according to the newsletter. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies apparently apprehended the man at Church Street and Foresthill Road, the newsletter reported. Dena Erwin, Placer County Sheriff’s spokeswoman, said the case was turned over to the California Highway Patrol. ~ Staff report
