Five agencies participated in a controlled burn under the Foresthill Bridge Thursday. The Bureau of Reclamation, Placer County Air Quality, Placer County Office of Emergency Services, California State Parks, Cal Fire and the Auburn City Fire Department all fought the preventive fire. More than 130 personnel, six engines, one dozer and a helicopter assisted in the 55-acre blaze intentionally set to decrease vegetation under the bridge and along the canyon walls. ?The main object is to have a nice, safe, clean burn,? said Cal Fire Information Officer Bob Eicholtz.
