So the taxpayers paid!!

When are the voters/taxpayers going to tell Congress that enough is enough? First the Banking/Housing crisis, which they allowed to occur, and now this massive Health Care “Reform” that will cost trillions and probably, based on past experience, won’t get the job done. Warnings from 10 years ago of a financial disaster growing were ignored, so the taxpayers paid. Even a slight amount of Congressional oversight in the years after the 1999 Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Deregulation Act might have prevented this disaster, so the taxpayers paid. Congressional hearings in 2004 and 2005 about problems at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went no where, so taxpayers paid. “Too Big to Fail” became the mantra, so the taxpayers paid. Congress has spent hundreds of billions of dollars of “Bail-out” and TARP money, and the economy is still failing, so the taxpayers paid. Congress allowed hundreds of billions of dollars of Medicare fraud to go unnoticed and unchecked for years, so taxpayers paid. Congress could have passed tort reform years ago to reduce health care costs, so the taxpayer paid. Congress could have eliminated the Insurance Company’s anti-trust exemption years ago to increase competition and lower costs, so the taxpayer paid. Now Congress wants the taxpayers to trust them with another trillion dollar program, and they tell us it will help the public and taxpayers, so the taxpayers paid. How long should we taxpayers be forced to put up with this incompetence, so the taxpayers paid, and their children paid, and their grandchildren paid. Don Perera, Rocklin
