Soar like eagles above storm

I read that an eagle knows when a storm is coming long before it breaks. It will fly to a very high spot and wait for the winds. When the storm hits, the eagle sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm is raging below, the eagle is soaring above it. What a lesson for us! The eagle doesn’t escape the storm; it simply uses it to lift higher! We are going through a storm of life, by which all of us are being affected, but like the eagle we can rise above it. We can allow God’s power to lift us high. He can lift us above the sickness, tragedy, failures and the disappointments that come our way. I was told that it’s not the burdens of life that weigh us down, but it is how we handle them. The Bible says, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings of eagles,” Isaiah 40:11. In spite of all that is going on, we have so much to be thankful for. We have our freedom, and we need to be so thankful for those that are protecting us. We have a “Nation under God” and let’s continue to acknowledge that! God bless each one of us, and God bless America. ELLY DERR, Auburn
