Soccer coaches needed for the fall season

Businesses can sponsor a team for $150, only half the 2008 cost. Blood, Sweat and Beers Trail Run set for Aug. 16 The inaugural Blood, Sweat and Beers Trail Run is set for Aug. 16, beginning at Auburn’s Railhead Park. The event will feature both a 5.5-mile course and a 10-mile course along the trails of the American River Canyon. There will be prizes for the top finishers in each age group and a commemorative t-shirt and visor for all participants, along with beer for those 21 and over. For more information, visit www.bloodsweatbeers.com. Running group on the trail this summer The popular Thursday night running group is again hitting the trail this summer. The summer training sessions will take place each week throughout the summer, beginning at 6 p.m. each Thursday at Placer High School. The training is open to eighth grader through college students. Runs will vary in length from 4 miles to 8 miles and the group will use the trails in the American River Canyon and the surrounding area.
