Sons in Retirement install new officers

At its December Holiday Luncheon meeting, at which ladies were invited, Sons in Retirement Placer Gold Branch 37 held its installation of officers for 2013 at the Auburn Elks Lodge.
The oath of office was administered by outgoing 2012 Big Sir Henry Tukloff, who will continue in 2013 as a Director, as is the custom.
The officers installed were: Big Sir Roland Gaubert, Little Sir Warren Manley, Secretary Dick McClellan, Assistant Secretary Tom Bowen, Treasurer Al Mattson, Assistant Treasurer Jack Poulsen, and Directors Rich Cortez, Pete Politi, Les Brenno, Jim Bean, Henry “Tuk” Tukloff and Kermit Jorgensen.
After lunch, the 108 members and ladies present were entertained by the Forest Lake Christian School Chamber Choir, their fourth consecutive holiday performance for Branch 37.  
Harold “Buck” Gein, former principal and administrator in the Placer High School District, was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation. Buck has been an active member of Branch 37 for 30 years, longer than anyone else. He is also the oldest member, having just celebrated his 95th birthday
Also recently awarded certificates were Don Walker, who was SIR Profiler for eight years and a director for three, and Jim Maneggie, who has been Program Chairman for several years.
Sons in Retirement is a Nonprofit Public Benefit Organization for Retired Men Devoted to Promoting the Independence and Dignity of Retirement. There are approximately 18,000 members in 135 branches throughout Northern and Central California. Branch 37 meets once a month for a social hour, lunch, and a short program with speakers. There are no dues or fees, only the cost of lunch and voluntary donations. Prospective members/visitors are always welcome.
