The members of Soroptimist International of the American River recently gathered poolside at the home of Kelly and Rick Fulfer to install their new board members. Installing officer Joanne Valentine, using a water-themed installation ceremony, inducted Cheryl Foley as the new president for the 2011-2012 club year. The new president, along with vice president Kathy Dunbar, secretary Pat Ferguson, treasurer Debora Mower, assistant treasurer Melanie Palmquist, directors Barb Warmuth, Merrill Kagan-Weston, Kelly Fulfer, Laura Moskwa, Mary Jo Sweeney and delegates Annette Baker and Lee Francia look forward to a busy year working in Auburn to improve the lives of local women and girls. Immediate Past President Ann Bryant, honored for her year as charter president, thanked her outgoing board and the members of Soroptimist International of the American River for all of their hard work and accomplishments during the club’s first year in Auburn. The new board is already hard at work having held its first official meeting, a board retreat on June 29, discussing upcoming projects and planning a strategy for the coming year of service.
