Speak out to save Cat House

Please help save the Cat House! This facility in DeWitt Center has been adopting out rescued cats, many from Placer County Animal Shelter, for the last 10 years — thousands of cats and kittens that Animal Control could not house. Other non-profits are not being charged rent, so why, after 10 years, is the rent policy being changed for Friends of Placer County Animal Shelter, which operates the Cat House? If the Cat House closes, the building will most likely sit vacant like the building next door. Please help us by visiting and sending letters of support. Let the supervisors know that you support volunteer animal rescue efforts such as this and oppose the county charging such an onerous rent to a worthwhile nonprofit. Diana Powell, Colfax
