State Theater sets sights on new roof

-A +A

A major project has begun at the State Theater building. The Auburn Pla-cer Performing Arts Society has embarked on a much-needed complete re-roofing of the entire theater building.

The 30-day project, which will be done in sections, began Aug. 6 with the tear-off of the front section of the existing roof.

The preparation and research has been going on for more than three months. This roof replacement is long overdue and requires additional work above and beyond the tear-off and replacement.

The project is complicated, and that being said, APPAC has been diligent in ensuring that future HVAC needs, design and expansion elements are implemented at this time, according to an APPAC media release.

One unique finding was the cement floor, wall and window section of the original projection booth.

The theater is at 985 Lincoln Way, Auburn. For information, visit www.livefromauburn.com.
