Sutter Auburn Faith a community gem

Placer County is so fortunate to have a hospital the caliber of Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital. Over the past 39 years my family has used the services of this hospital and its staff many times for various family members. We have always been extremely pleased with our experiences and thankful they are in our community. In August of 2011 my husband, Roger Barrett, went to the emergency room at Auburn Faith for chest pain and what we thought was extreme indigestion. Fortunately, the medical staff diagnosed the pain as a heart condition. He was transported immediately to Sutter Memorial in Sacramento where a triple-bypass heart surgery was performed. Roger received excellent care and treatment from this hospital, as well. He has since recovered and is doing very nicely. Most recently, our son, Erik Barrett, went to the emergency room at Auburn Faith for an infection. He was working in his garage on a car motor and jabbed a screwdriver into his thumb. Several days later he thought he was suffering from the stomach flu but then his thumb started to swell and became extremely painful. We did not realize how serious the condition was until he was admitted to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital! He stayed there five days while receiving massive doses of antibiotics and other medications to get rid of the infection. Our family wants to thank all of the emergency room staff and the hospital staff for the excellent treatment he received. We were so glad that Dr. Benjamin Williams did not have to operate on Erik’s thumb but was there to do so if needed. Erik is recovering well and was able to go back to work. Again, kudos to all the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital/emergency staff and doctors. Mary Lynn Barrett, Auburn
