Bear River 6, Foothill 0 at Lake of the Pines — Kenzie Billings and Erin Nichol combined for a one-hitter as the Bruins improved to 2-0 overall. Billings fanned three and walked one in four innings while Nichol struck out five in the final three perfect innings to earn a save. Billings doubled, tripled and drove in two runs. Kathryn Rabak doubled twice and Sierra Pruss doubled, tripled and drove in a run. Bear River opens PVL play at Colfax Thursday. Foresthill 4, Vacaville Christian 1 at Vacaville — Corrine Nevares pitched a complete game as the Wildfires evened their overall record at 1-1. Younger sister Nichole Nevares doubled and drove in two runs. Brianne Reed had two hits and Samantha Misuraca added 2 RBIs for Foresthill, which hosts Delta next Monday in nonleague action. Wheatland 5, Colfax 1 at Wheatland — Randi Anderson, one of five freshmen on the Falcons’ roster, allowed all five runs on seven hits in four innings. Anderson issued eight free passes while striking out four. Less than 24 hours after a 12-inning win and playing in the second of four consecutive games in four days, Colfax mustered only six hits. Michelle Cavalier and Jorden Gerlach both doubled. The Falcons (3-3 overall) travel to Nevada Union today for another nonleague game.
