Taggers should clean up their mess

Re: “Graffiti evidence matches Placer vandal to a tee,” (Journal, Sept. 17). Thank you, (Placer High School Resource Officer) David Neher for making the connection between the symbols on the student’s T-shirt and the felt-pen and spray-painted tagging on the buildings in Auburn. Our town is beginning to look like Los Angeles and we need to stop them now. This is a nationwide problem that has got to stop. We have not been able to see any artistic talent in graffiti. These taggers should be punished severely and made to paint over the graffiti and pay compensation for their dirty work. RICHARD and MARY TURRIETTA, Auburn
