Teachers ask for a 'speedy, fair' resolution

-A +A
Amidst the recent negotiations between Auburn Union School District and its teachers, we, the second- and third-grade teachers of Skyridge School, are trying to hold onto our dream. We chose this profession because we love children. We treasure the "ah-ha" moments that children bring to our world and we care deeply about the connections we have with the students and their families. Over the course of our careers, we have survived the frequent swings of the curriculum pendulum. We made it through the challenges of year-round education and most recently, are trying to stay positive through the financial struggles with our district. Our dream is that of oneness between students, families, administrators, ourselves and our district, so that together, we can all focus completely on the education of the children of Auburn. We hope for a speedy, fair resolution of our present negotiations.
