We are so grateful to the Board of Supervisors for recognizing the valuable service Friends (of Placer County Animal Shelter) provides to the county and the community. The 12-month rent reprieve will give us an opportunity to plan for the drastic increase ($860/month) in our debt load. Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery opened the discussion with the desire to craft a solution that would result in a positive outcome for all the stakeholders. Together with Supervisor Kirk Uhler they chiseled out the end proposal. Saying she received over 200 communications from citizens asking her to save the Cat House, Supervisor Montgomery showed she listens to public opinion. Finally, thank you to all the supporters who braved the icy roads to come to the meeting. Rosemary Frieborn, Friends of Placer County Animal Shelter, Auburn
