Thanks for help in tour’s success

-A +A
Last weekend, Aug. 7 and 8, hundreds of trail travelers visited 19 museums from Roseville to north Lake Tahoe for the third annual Heritage Trail Museums Tour. The Auburn Journal provided excellent coverage that helped spread the word about the tour. An event of this broad scope relies heavily on volunteers who put their talents, and heart and soul into the activities at each museum. I’d like to convey a special thank you to the Old Town Auburn Business Association, the Mother Lode Goldhounds, the Placer County Museums Docent Guild and the Native Sons of the Golden West Auburn Parlor No. 59 for their support and hard work at the six Auburn museums. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors including Capital Public Radio, SureWest, the County of Placer, and the Native Sons of the Golden West Auburn Parlor No. 59. Lastly, I would like to thank you, the participants, for visiting the museums in your community. We live in a remarkable county and our shared local history makes it as rich today as it was in 1850. If you missed this year’s Heritage Trail event, we hope you will plan on attending next year. Thank you all for making The Heritage Trail 2010 a huge success! Melanie Barton, Placer County Museums administrator and chairwoman, The Heritage Trail
