Auburn’s local chapter of Los Medicos Voladores, The Flying Doctors, returned recently from a trip to Baja California where dental and optometry services were provided free of charge. Pilot Tom Palmer, interpreter Adela Lee, volunteer Louise Palmer, all of Auburn, and volunteer Judi Foy of Penn Valley joined with a team from the Bay Area in a three-day clinic in the fishing pueblo of Bahia Asuncion, about 400 miles south of San Diego. Los Medicos Voladores organizes several trips a year by small aircraft to remote areas of northern Mexico, where medical clinics are held. All participants pay their own way and enjoy the appreciation shown by the people of these isolated villages. This trip served 30 dental patients and fitted 60 pair of reading glasses and 40 pair of sunglasses. Tom Palmer, Auburn
