PlacerArts hosts a rockin’ New Year’s Eve party from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at The Arts Building, 808 Lincoln Way, Auburn. The night features vocalist J. Ross Parrelli and band covering danceable jazz, reggae and soul. Photo ID required; age 21 and over only. Cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door; admission includes midnight champagne toast. The Auburn Event Center hosts a New Year’s party featuring Mumbo Gumbo at 145 Harrison Ave., Auburn. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Starting the fun is the Empty Wallets, a band from Placerville. Mumbo Gumbo will play its blend of Cajun, Zydeco, boogie, reggae and funk. There will be a champagne toast and party favors, with pizza and snacks available. This is an all-ages event; ID required at the bar.
