Celebrate America, a musical extravaganza, opens with pre-show entertainment at 4:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Park, 5500 Park Ave. Show, featuring American Idol finalist Danny Gokey, starts at 8 p.m. and culminates with aerial fireworks extravaganza.

Book sale fundraiser for Gold Country Wildlife will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at 2166 Swetzer Road in Penryn. Donations accepted.
Play to Thrive, a Kaiser Permanente-sponsored activity time, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Center Court (near JC Penney) at Westfield Galleria in Roseville. Traditional fun as well as newer games for children under age 10 planned.
