Time to call the canal-padders

Just took my morning walk along the Bear River Canal. Nice to see that the hazard trees were removed. It is such a pain when folks may have to get off their bikes to go around a tree just so they won’t fall into the canal. A couple of other suggestions. The edges of the canal need to be padded in case someone should fall into them and get injured. Also, clear-cutting 200 feet on each side of the canal would be wonderful. Also paving both sides of the canal so it would be a lot flatter with no rocks to stub toes or twist ankles. Also, with some of the stimulus money, you could hire folks to guide the walkers, runners and bikers to protect them from any obstacles and dangers of the trail.   Joe DePaoli, Meadow Vista
