Curious Auburn residents may have wondered why several Auburn Police and Placer County Sheriff’s Office cars were stationed outside of the 7-Eleven off of Auburn Ravine Road Thursday afternoon. “It was a warrant arrest,” said Detective Scott Alford, with the Auburn Police Department at the scene. “So we teamed up and arrested a transient.” Alford said the man was arrested on two felony charges, one for resisting arrest and another for giving a fictitious name to a police officer. To apprehend the suspect, police had to stake out opposite sides of a nearby trail when the man tried to run. The suspect is currently in custody at the Placer County Jail, he said. ~Sara Seyydin
