It was a superb event — the memorial concert Sunday afternoon in memory of Maestro Michael Goodwin. What a profound tribute to Michael’s outstanding civic leadership, inspirational guidance and musical skill. The orchestra was excellent— as is typical. But equally to be appreciated are those who worked so conscientiously and tirelessly to provide this venue for those of us wishing to acknowledge and pay a final tribute to Maestro Goodwin! To each musician and to guest conductor, Pete Nowlen, — thank you; to each symphony board and league member — thank you; to the ushers and technical staff — thank you. And special gratitude to noted guest pianist, Konstantin Soukhovetski, taking time from his professional concert schedule to fly from New York to pay tribute to his friend. To all involved with the Auburn Symphony, we in the community encourage to keep building on the foundation laid over these past 17 years under Goodwin’s baton. Auburn wouldn’t be the same without its beautiful symphony! Jeane and Kenneth Appell, Auburn
