Uncontrolled dogs a disgrace

I have empathy for Ms. (Delta) Wilson-Ricky, who lost her little dog to a pitbull attack (Journal, June 8). Tougher leash laws and laws concerning the care and control of your animals are greatly needed. Unfortunately, owners don’t know or care how to control, train or house their animals. This includes barking dogs. That is why you have these attacks on Lucky and on the poor lady in San Diego who has to have amputations because of a dog attack. It is a disgrace that you can’t take a walk or go out in your yard for fear of a dog attack. Regina Hopley, Meadow Vista
