A man’s body was recovered from a canal off North Auburn's Edgewood Road shortly after noon Wednesday. A sheriff's spokesman said there does not appear to be any foul play involved in the death. The body was spotted just before noon floating in the Lower Wise Canal by a Placer County Water Agency worker, said Dena Erwin, Placer County Sheriff’s Office public information officer. Erwin said two sheriff's dive team members jumped into the canal and recovered the man's body as it floated downstream. The man's identity will be released after notification of next of kin. The canal is owned by Pacific Gas & Electric. More information will be posted on this story as it becomes available. - Staff report
