A US Marine’s WWII memory

I want to totally concur with Terry Crouson’s comments about the Marines urinating on Taliban corpses (Journal, Jan. 15). I’m a World War II Marine Raider, 3rd Raider Battalion, K Company. God brought me through hell and high water and back again. If people think that was really bad about urinating, in the Second World War, in all of our tents at Guadalcanal, every tent that I ever walked in, in the middle of the tent there was a card table. On every card table we had skulls. We’d knock the back of the skulls out and use them for ashtrays. You’d probably say that was way worse than what they did. Don Grant, Auburn
