Value schools, vote MacDonald

While national and state issues dominate the news regarding our elections on Tuesday, Nov. 6, there are local decisions to be made that will very much impact the quality of our community. One such decision is the selection of a board member to the Placer Union High School District board of trustees. Our three kids graduated from our local schools and were well-prepared academically for their futures. The staff at our schools challenge, inspire and motivate our kids in ways that help them navigate the sometimes difficult teen years and grow to strong and competent adults. Naturally, the first order of thanks goes to the staff at each campus who teach, coach and advise our kids. But behind the scenes we have a board of trustees who sets the direction for the district. We’ve been blessed to have a board of intelligent, caring and responsible individuals who work together in the best interests of our kids. In our district there’s none of the rancor, negativity, or divisiveness that we read about in boards elsewhere. For this reason, we’re joining with the principals of all our schools and other community leaders in voting for Lynn MacDonald for the PUHSD board. If, like us, you appreciate the education your kids have received, vote for Lynn to continue her strong service to our community. Ed and Carol Koons, Auburn
