Don't look now but it appears that the Pioneer Valley League soccer chase is going to go down to the wire.

Thanks to four goals from Sabrina Viscuso, Placer's Hillmen kept their PVL pennant hopes alive Monday night by notching a 4-0 whitewashing of host Center. The win pushed Placer's PVL record to 5-2, good for 15 points.

Meanwhile, while Placer was winning, PVL leader Colfax (5-1-1, 16 points) was being held to a 1-1 tie at PVL upstart Foothill, which over the course of a week has climbed back into the league title and playoff picture.

Something will have to give this Thursday night when Placer hosts Colfax at 7:15 p.m. at Hillmen Stadium.

In the Placer win, the Hillmen led 1-0 at halftime before busting the match wide open all on the foot of Viscuso. Assisting on the goals for Placer were Morgan Cutter, Macaylea Mitchell, Sam Slade and Brittany Bartle.

At Foothill, Colfax took a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the match after Katie Garcia hit the post and the shot was followed up by Emilee Klug.

However, just before halftime, the Lady Falcons were called for a penalty and the Mustangs (3-3-1),  who only took three shots on goal the entire match, converted the penalty kick.
