Viscuso's late strike lifts Hillgals over Center

The Placer High soccer team battled to pick up its second Pioneer Valley League victory and jump back into the playoff chase Tuesday at Center.
Junior Sabrina Viscuso scored two goals, including the game-winner with just three minutes left as the Hillgals rallied for a 2-1 victory. Sarah Rowland assisted on the second goal and Caitlin Letcher set up Viscuso’s first-half goal.
Placer improved to 2-3 in the PVL heading into a showdown with league-leading Colfax on Thursday at Le Febvre Stadium.
Colfax 2, Foothill 0 at Colfax — The Falcons struggled to find the net, but got enough offense to fend off the Mustangs and improve to 5-0-1 in the PVL.
Emilee Klug scored the opening goal in the 56th minute and Celeena Wall added an insurance goal in the 79th for Colfax. Kate Bianchi had a stellar game on defense, along with Brittany Thomas and Christina Keyes.
The Falcons posted a 5-0 win over Lincoln on Monday as Katy Thomas, Iona Lofrano, Alexis Wybrecht, Tori Anderson and Klug scored goals. Kayla Garcia, Sophie Satterlee, Wall, Thomas and Lofrano added assists. Savannah Newman led the defense in the shutout.
In junior varsity play, Colfax blanked Lincoln 4-0 on Monday and followed up with a 7-0 win over Foothill on Tuesday.
Forest Lake 10, Cristo Rey 0 at Sacramento — The Falcons improved to 6-0 in the Central Valley California League with a five-goal effort from Chloe Bagley on Tuesday.
Morghan Koch had two goals and three assists for Forest Lake. Lia Haggerty added one goal and two assists. Aly English had a goal and an assist and Cassidy Greene had a goal and an assist.
