Mike (Holmes) cast a vote in October of 2003 to put excess funds into a reserve account. During the past two or three years when the economy took a downturn, these reserve funds helped keep a balanced budget for Auburn, unlike other cities that are facing severe cut-backs and increased property taxes. Mike has been in public service as a Naval officer, diplomat, educator and an elected official for his entire professional career. He has a great deal of experience combined with a vision for the future of Auburn that makes him an ideal choice for the City Council. Mike was born in Auburn, is extremely proud of his town, and wants to make it an even better place to live. He has initiated an effort to nominate eight historical buildings in Auburn to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. He has worked to keep Lake Clementine open and recognizes the importance of our beautiful American River Canyon. He knows that these are the attractions that will bring tourists to our town, in turn staying in our lodging facilities, eating in our restaurants and shopping in Auburn. ANN MOEN, Auburn
