Wal-Mart a town wrecker?

Think about it. I wanted, mind you, wanted, not needed, tree bark chips for my yard. Our local store is $2 more a bag than the end-of-town big box. For $2 in gas I saved $30. That’s $30 saved that will go farther in required food items; possibly farther at Wal-Mart. Local stores are convenience stores. Want it now? Pay more. Can’t drive? Pay more. I can’t support the locals because I am not a captive consumer. You can shop there, that’s OK. You may have disposable income, I don’t. So don’t hold me and Wal-Mart in contempt. Go Wal-Mart.
