Weimar athletes shine at NorCal Elite Invitational

The Weimar Charter School?s eighth grade girls track and field team captured first place to highlight the school?s strong showing at the NorCal Elite Invitational last week at Casa Roble High School. Jessie Mora, Annie Bellefontaine, Hannah Hardin and Maddie Kringel teamed up to place second in the 4x100-meter relay. Bellefontaine added a runner-up finish in the 400 while Hardin took second in the high jump. Shantel Crane placed second in the discus and Kringel was fourth in the 800. Logan Bertz led Weimar?s eighth grade boys squad. Bertz placed third in the high jump and was fourth in the 1,600. Logan Meinster, Beau Baggett, Mravis Mullican and Will Hardin combined to take fourth in the 4x100 relay. Joey Kaestner leaped to second place in the seventh grade boys long jump. Cassie Ramirez raced to fourth place in the seventh grade girls 400. The sixth grade boys had a big day, including a win in the 4x100 relay by Lukas Baggett, Dakota Redfern, Anthony Toro and Nick Van Doorn. Toro added a win in the 55-meter hurdles and a third place in the high jump. Van Doorn blazed to second place in the 100. Camryn Jack placed second in the sixth grade girls high jump and fourth in the 400. Sam Sinel?s discus toss was good for second place.
