What a great town we live in

-A +A
On Wednesday night my husband and I had the pleasure of attending a “thank you volunteers dinner” put on by the Auburn City Council members. The Council members graciously served dinner to the many people that volunteer their time. As a member of the Greater Auburn Area Fire Safe Council (GAAFSC) it was a delight to be in a room with so many people representing several different entities that are necessary for a town to function. The room was filled with volunteers from the police department, fire department, fire councils, arts council, technology, historians to name a few. Looking around the room I realized that we are so fortunate to live in a town that has so many people ready and willing to step up and help. Volunteering in this town is a wonderful opportunity to be able to give back to this awesome community! Years ago President Kennedy said “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country” so I am asking everyone “What can you do for our community?” Fran Kehoe/Greater Auburn Area Fire Safe Council Greater Auburn Area Fire Safe Council , Auburn
