Wheaton Memorial Alumni Soccer Game Sunday in Colfax
Colfax High School will host the annual Carrie Wheaton Memorial Alumni Soccer game on Sunday at 1 p.m. The current Falcons will take on a team of former players in a friendly contest to honor a former Colfax great.

Player cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt and barbecue lunch. Proceeds from the event benefit the Carrie Wheaton Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Colfax girls soccer program.
Auburn Elementary hosting Race for Education
The Auburn Elementary Parent-Teacher Club will hold a 5K fun run on May 20 to support several programs at the school.
The run begins at 9 a.m. and all pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt. There will also be a free kids run. Medals will be awarded to top finishers in each age division.

E-waste drive to benefit Placer athletics
WizWire Communications in Auburn will host a free drive-through, drop-off e-waste drive on Saturday to benefit Placer High cross country and track and field programs.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Small household items such as monitors, televisions, desktop and notebook PCs, VCRs, stereo equipment, CDs, speakers, keyboards, mice, PDAs, digital cameras, zip drives, telephones, cell phones, printers, copiers, laser and multifunction scanners, fax machines, microwaves, toasters, mixers, blenders and vacuum cleaners will be accepted.

Placer girls basketball camp coming in June
The Placer High girls basketball program will hold its annual camps in June at the school.
The camp for kids entering third through eighth grades will be held June 11-15 from 1 p.m. to 4. Cost is $75 for campers registered before June 1 and $85 thereafter.
Incoming freshmen are invited to basketball camp June 11-15 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 each day. The $100 fee includes summer league games and tournaments.

ARD bringing back adult volleyball
ARD will host a free introduction to adult intermediate volleyball through June 22 to help promote its Tuesday and Friday morning programs.
Men ages 50 and up and women ages 45 and up are welcome to participate in the free clinic. Adult volleyball meets from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday and Friday. Teams are formed after a warm-up period and spend the rest of the time playing three-touch volleyball.
Wolverine Athletic Association golf tourney May 21
The Sierra College Wolverine Athletic Association will host its ninth annual fundraiser golf tournament on May 21 at The Ridge in Auburn.
The day will begin with registration from 9 a.m. to 11. There will be tee prizes, brunch, range balls and putting available. The shotgun start is at 11 a.m. and at 4 p.m. there will be no-host cocktails before dinner and a live auction at 4:30.

Free SNAG golf day May 26
Newcastle’s Home on the Range driving range will host a free SNAG (Starting New At Golf) day on May 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Auburn Recreation District is partnering with Home on the Range to offer a series of campus throughout the summer for both adults and children. SNAG is designed to be easy and fun for both beginners and seasoned players of all ages. It is played with oversized clubs and mini tennis balls and Velcro targets.
