Where are the parents?

Re: “Dance moves raise debate,” (Journal, April 12) — I want to suggest that parents become more involved in their Placer High School teen’s lives. In other words, volunteer to chaperone at dances, putting themselves in a position of being able to observe their sons and daughters as they express their “freedom of speech” selves with sexually explicit dance moves. Then, carry the debate on at home. In other words, I’m wondering, where are the parents in all of this? Are they that ignorant of what freak dancing and grinding are all about? Don’t they care anymore? Have they given up or been led to believe that their input is no longer viable in their child’s life? Where are the parents in this discussion? Connie Wilson, Meadow Vista
