Whitney High broadcast students win 'Best Live Event' for Antelope/Whitney football gameBy: Journal sports staff
Students from Whitney High School took home a big reward last week at the Student Television Network’s annual high school broadcast convention in Los Angeles.
Six members of the Whitney Wildcat football broadcast staff won “Best Live Event” for the Antelope/Whitney football game, meaning it was the best live event in the country for high school broadcast students.
The students also received a check for $5,000 made out to the school.
In all, 41 Whitney students attended the event, with several others taking home awards as well.
In the fall, WCTV19 produced highlight-reel videos of local football games for Gold Country News Service.
