Who can’t handle truth?

The truth is a bunch of poor people getting home loans they couldn’t afford did not cause the housing bubble to burst. It was actually a complex group of actions taken by big investment banks, ratings agencies and insurance companies. As much as we want someone to blame, it’s not state workers or unions that brought the economy to its knees. The great collapse of ’09 robbed retirement funds across the country, besides it was our elected officials that authorized the work agreements in the first place. Do the school chiefs, regents, department heads and indeed our elected representatives take huge cuts in pay or decline their lifetime fully paid health care? Of course not! Leave the pain for the little guy. Don’t be fooled. The very people making the accusations of blame are the ones who caused the problem. PAUL PIERCY, Colfax
