Why hate on Greenwood?

Why I am a bit perplexed as to the actions of a very few of those attending the Fourth of July parade. One float had Lee Greenwood?s ?God Bless the USA? playing and for the life of me I see no words in the song that caused the f-bombs and vitriolic hate speech from the progressive less than 1 percenters. If I am missing something here, please point out to me in the lyrics the cause of such anger. ?If tomorrow all the things were gone, I?d worked for all my life And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife I?d thank my lucky stars, to be living? here today, ?cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can?t take that away. And I?m proud to be an American, where at least I know I?m free. And I won?t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today, ?cause there ain?t no doubt I love this land. God bless the USA.? John T. Nightingale, Auburn
