The Foresthill High boys basketball team hit the road with just six players and pulled out a gutsy 54-51 win at Delta Tuesday night in Clarksburg. Pliny Murphy scored 17 points and played well down the stretch for the Wildfires, who improved to 2-1 in the Central Valley Christian League. Sean O’Hagan scored 11 points and Travis Greene hauled in 10 rebounds to help the Foresthill cause. Josh Brown hit a pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter to help keep the Wildfires close. Foresthill will face Woodland Christian Friday on the road. El Dorado 60, Colfax 57 at Placerville — The Falcons suffered a tough loss on the road as the Cougars rallied from a five-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter. Jeff Divine and Justin Witt scored 14 points each to lead Colfax (9-7 overall, 1-2 Pioneer Valley League). Ethan Guiles added 13 and Kyle Greer tossed in 12. “It was a tight game throughout,” Colfax coach Ron Pucci said. “We had a look at a 3 at the buzzer, but we missed it. They made plays down the stretch and won the game.” Justin Gavard led El Dorado (10-8, 3-0) with 17 points. Matt Winterer scored 15. In junior varsity action, El Dorado beat Colfax 64-60 in double overtime.
