On behalf of the Auburn Wine and Food Festival Committee, I would like to extend a million thanks to everyone involved with this year’s Auburn Wine and Food Festival, held Oct. 10. From the venues throughout Downtown and Old Town to the wineries and restaurants providing samples of their fare, to the hardworking volunteers and, of course, the hundreds of participants, this year’s festival proved the unparalleled bounty that Auburn offers! The festival could not have gone as smoothly as it did without all the hours of coordination, led by Teena Wilkins, Ty Rowe, Rachel Chaddock, Jim Bril and Cari Thachuk, to name just a few. Also, thank you to the Placer County Historic Courthouse for our check-in and wine sales as well as the city for getting people safely from point A to point B in shuttle buses. Finally, thank you to our generous sponsors: Granite Community Bank, Citizen’s Bank of Northern California and Community 1st Bank as well as the dozens of merchants and wineries for your outstanding raffle donations. Not only did this year’s festival showcase the wonderful diversity of Auburn’s retailers, merchants and business owners, it also puts Auburn on the map for our rich cuisine and amazing vineyards. Thank you to everyone in the community for your support of this event. We look forward to seeing you next year on the second Saturday in October!
